FAQ

Straight answers.

The questions we get on the phone most often, answered the way we’d answer them on the phone.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
Once a year for a typical household. Sooner if you run the dryer daily, have a long or winding duct run, dry a lot of towels, pet bedding, or heavy fabrics, or share the laundry with a large household. If the dryer is stacked or the run climbs through a wall to the roof, it packs up faster than a short side-wall run.
What are the signs my dryer vent is clogged?
Clothes needing a second cycle is usually the first one people notice. After that: the dryer or the laundry itself feeling hot to the touch, a burning smell while it runs, lint gathering around the outside hood, and weak or no air coming out of that hood while the dryer is on. A burning smell means stop using the dryer and call.
How long does the service take?
A standard single-family cleaning is usually 45 to 90 minutes. A long run, a rooftop termination, a second-floor laundry, or a nest that has to come out first will take longer. We'll tell you on the phone what your setup is likely to need before we book it.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to let us in to reach the dryer, and we'd rather show you the before and after in person. For rentals and HOA work we regularly coordinate with a property manager or on-site staff instead.
Is a dryer vent the same thing as an air duct?
No, and it matters. Your air ducts are part of the heating and cooling system and carry conditioned air around the house. A dryer vent is a single dedicated duct that carries hot, wet, lint-laden air from one appliance to the outside. Different job, different equipment, different risk. We do dryer vents only. If someone quotes you a whole-house air duct package off the back of a dryer vent call, that's a different service being sold to you.
Do you clean from inside or outside?
Both ends, because a duct cleaned from one side only gets partly cleaned. We brush the full run and capture the lint at the dryer connection so it ends up in the vacuum rather than on your laundry room floor.
Can you service a second-floor or rooftop vent?
Yes. Upstairs laundry rooms and roof terminations are common in this area and are exactly the runs that clog worst, because the lint has further to travel and gravity is working against it.
What areas do you cover?
We serve 174 cities across San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange counties. If you're just outside one of them, call and ask — the answer is often yes.

On pricing

A standard single-family dryer vent cleaning is a flat rate, given to you on the phone before anything is booked. Repairs, rerouting, nest removal and installs are quoted per job, because what’s behind the wall decides the work. You will never get a price discovered halfway through.
